|The Organizing Team of the International Conference on Coatings on Glass and Plastics is very proud to announce that this year´s ICCG has been successfully implemented and lead to much satisfaction for all parties involved.
Taking place from 18th – 22nd June 2006 in Dresden it attracted nearly 500 visitors from over 30 countries. Most participants came from Germany (259), the USA (45) and Japan (39) but we also had visitors who travelled half around the world e.g. from Australia (6) or China (10). We thank everybody for coming and hope that the ICCG served as a favourable opportunity to come together as scientists, technologists and managers from universities, research institutes, coating manufacturers, materials and equipment suppliers as well as from the user industries to discuss the latest developments in the field of large area glass and plastic coating.
Prior to the conference on Sunday the Short Courses were an excellent opportunity for more than 65 attendees to gain up-to-date background information given in educational lectures by well-known scientific experts.
Within 7 Technical Sessions more than 70 speakers presented their latest knowledge in the extensive fields from new markets and trends over different technologies for product design as well as technical aspects, safety measures and environmental and economic factors. The Poster Session presented 53 posters of which Mr. N. Sakudo, Mr. T. Kilper, and Mr. W. M. Posadowski won the Best Poster Award.
Another highlight was our Industrial Exhibition where 38 international exhibitors presented the latest innovations in products, services and equipment on the market of large-area or high-volume products. Furthermore the Company Tours excursions granted a look behind the curtains of 5 companies. We thank Von Ardenne Anlagentechnik, Fremat, FHR, Southwall and the Fraunhofer FEP for their kind co-operation.
Our Social Events especially the Reception by the Mayor on top of the World Trade Center Tower and the Conference Banquet at the beautiful Lingnerschloss gained much acknowledgement and therewith contributed to the pleasant atmosphere we intended to create on the ICCG.
A further mention applies to this year´s outstanding venue Dresden (Germany). With its special mixture between various historical sights, modern architecture besides a beautiful nature and the relaxed Saxon way of life, it gave delight to our numerous visitors from abroad.
We would like to thank everybody for his and her contribution to the success of the 6th ICCG. Without the support and co-operation of a large number of people, exhibiting companies and sponsors it would not have been possible to organize such a prosperous event!
For those who would like to recall this event, we displayed some impressions in our gallery. Furthermore it is possible to order our proceedings on CD or as printed matter through our online order form.
We hope the 6th ICCG was a valuable and enjoyable conference for every participant and we are now already looking forward to welcome you on the 7th ICCG in Eindhoven/Netherlands in 2008!
