 | The splendour of Dresden
The reconstructed Church of Our Lady, the Frauenkirche, has become a symbol of reconciliation. Guiding you up to the dome we make you familiar with the history and reconstruction.
After that we take you on a stroll through the old town and show you the most famous sights like the Zwinger Palace, the Semper Opera House and the restored Residential Palace. In the afternoon we discover the city by bus and take you up the hillside of Dresden where you can enjoy a typical Saxon coffee break overlooking the city from the well know „balcony of Dresden”, the Luisenhof.

 | Meißen - a medieval gem
The crossed swords stand for the first European Porcelain, the Meißen Porcelain. You are familiar with the history of “Meißen” and “Meissen”? We take you there and give the glimpse of the medial city of Meißen with its ancient castle, famous cathedral, narrow streets and medial buildings.
And we invite you to the workshop of Europe`s first Porcelain Manufacture to see the splendour and learn about the manufacturing process. Lunch will be in one of the old wine taverns of Meissen. On our way back to Dresden we visit the famous former hunting lodge of the Saxon Court situated on a romantic island and housing a valuable collection of antlers.

Stones tell history
Stolpen is a famous place where the former mistress of the Elector of Saxony (Augustus the Strong) was kept prisoner in the Castle.
The castle is very close to the unique scenery of the Saxon Switzerland. Lunch is at the panorama restaurant overlooking this rocky scenery. In the afternoon the romantic garden of Gross Sedlitz awaits you with coffee and cakes served on the terrace.

The “Erzgebirge” - the Ore Mountains
Freiberg is the cradle of Saxon history, silver mining started here back in the 11th century. For a time it was the most prosperous town in Saxony. The cathedral became famous because of the Silbermann organ. There is a visit to the cathedral in the morning and after that we continue to Seiffen. The countryside is fascinating.
Lunch will beat the small town of Seiffen where the nutcracker was born. Seiffen stands for Saxon folk arts with its many woodcarving workshops. You can visit the museum and we take you to one of the workshops where you can watch the manufacturing of the world famous Christmas decoration. Naturally there will be spare time for you to look round the shops.

 | Meeting Raffael and Wagner
The Dresden Semper Opera House became famous because of the German composers Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss. The Opera House can be visited in the morning as well as the Art Gallery with Raffael`s “Sistine Madonna”.
Lunch is provided downtown and in the afternoon we are at your disposal for a stroll through the New Town of Dresden. Parks, small streets and shopping malls in baroque buildings invite you to discover this restored part of Dresden.

 | Relax and Enjoy!
In the Dresden Elbe valley the riches of the natural and cultural heritage unite in a unique way. Dresden has become famous for its long music traditions. Most of our musicians and artist lived along the slopes and meadows. Today we make you familiar with them. A horse carriage takes you along the Elbe meadows to the charming palace of Pillnitz, situated on the banks of the river Elbe. Frederick Augustus the Strong was in love with the Asian style and you will note it. The park is enchanting and your professional guide will take you on a stroll. We visit the vineyards of Pillnitz and you have the chance to enjoy the famous Saxon wine. Lunch and snacks are provided on the way during a pick nick.
We return by paddle steam boat to Dresden!

Please note that all tours start at the conference place, the wechselbad Theater at 8.30 a.m. and will finish there as well.
The rates were set in autumn 2005 and may slightly change in consequence of changing taxes.
As places are limited it is strongly recommended that you book for the tours and visits early to avoid disappointment. Preference will be given in sequence as registrations are received. However we try to realize your requirements and wishes.
Please note that for all tours a minimum number of participants is required. In case that one of the tours will not take place we let you know as soon as possible.
